So you want to know something about me?  Well, where should I start?  First off, I guess I'll tell you my name.  My name is Ben Poon, and I am the artist and creative force behind Mortigi Tempo.  I am in University right now, studying Electrical Engineering, which kind of explains why I am only able to produce a new comic only once a week.  Believe it or not, school does come first for me.  What else do you want to know?

My hobbies include drawing (of course), music, movies, playing guitar and the Internet and website design.

Comics (both funnystrips and comic books) that I currently read are:

Liberty Meadows - easily the funniest comicstrip out there right now, and not the same PC trash that is so prevalent in the papers.  Frank Cho is an inspiration to me, and one of the reasons I started drawing my own strip.

Bizarro - the king of the single panel since Gary Larson called it quits

Fox Trot, For Better For Worse, Zits - all are quality strips that are worth checking out

The Savage Dragon - the only comic book that I collect on a regular basis.  It's funny, violent and plain, good ole' fun.

Grendel - I was introduced to this fascinating character a couple of years ago, and I've been picking up as many back issues as I can afford.  Quality stories that are both well written and well drawn.

Anything By Frank Miller - Frank Miller is a God, both as a writer and as an artist.  I picked up Ronin and was hooked on his writing style.  The Dark Knight Returns and Batman: Year One are both fantastic comics.

Chopping Block - http://choppingblock.org This is a hilarious one panel comic that shows serial killers are somewhat regular people, too.

Avalon - http://www.avalonhigh.com It's Canadian.  'Nuff said.

Desperate Times - http://www.desperatetimes.com Chris Eliopoulos is the letterer for The Savage Dragon, and his hilarious funnystrip runs at the end of the comic.  Very funny, and the original inspiration for my main characters Gary and Bill.
